Our 2021 Learner’s Day took place – virtually – on Friday, June 18. The day-long event celebrated our learning community and featured podium presentations and posters from medical students, T32 vision research trainees, graduate students, residents, and clinical fellows. Quarterly Global Cataract Symposium
In conjunction with our global partner – the University of Santo Tomas in Manilla, Philippines—DOVS launched a quarterly Global Cataract Symposium. 46 participants—including faculty, medical students, residents and fellows—attended the inaugural event, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, while 51 attendees attended the second event, hosted by the University of Santo Tomas.
Our third Global Cataract Symposium is scheduled for January 10, 2022.

Global Journal Club and Grand Rounds
Our Global Journal Club got underway on February 10, 2021. Roughly 40 participants from India, the Philippines and the University of Wisconsin came together virtually to discuss the latest and evaluate the latest ophthalmologic scholarly articles and studies.
Additionally, due to the new virtual format, our weekly Grand Rounds are now available to a global audience. These events will continue to be offered virtually until further notice.
