Making Emerging Technologies Accessible for Those with Visual Impairments
Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Teams Up with UW Department of Computer Science to Understand and Address Accessibility Needs
Many emerging technologies may not adequately take into account the needs and preferences of people with visual impairments, including low vision. The Department of Computer Sciences is trying to shape development of these technologies—including smart kitchen appliances—to make sure they are accessible to all people and empower those with visual impairments.
